Central Indiana PCA Halloween HPDE Weekend Results.

I realize this is a bit late, but better late than never, I guess. The Halloween HPDE that the Central Indiana Region PCA club put on this year was a great experience. This was the first time I was able to take a Porsche out on the track so I was expecting to do well.

My first session was a little more difficult than I had anticipated. This was caused by my inability to properly do heel and toe down shifts coming in to a couple of corners. However, Thanks to my instructor for the weekend, Rob Fike, I was able to fix this by the next session. Rob told me that the brake pedal in my car was adjustable, so after a little bit of tinkering under the dash and couple of skinned knuckles, I was able to adjust the brake pedal to my liking.

This fix greatly improved my lap times, but despite that, I was still getting passed right and left by all the other cars in my group. I think this was mainly because I wasn't as comfortable with the Porsche as I was with the tC that I used on my previous HPDE weekends. I have a feeling after I get a little more comfortable with the car I'll be even faster.

That being said I was still able to put in some pretty decent times. My fastest laps were around the mid 1:30's. Which is about as fast as I was going in the tC when I was really pushing it. It's now just a matter of getting more seat time in the Porsche. Once I get a little more comfort able behind the wheel, I think I'll be able to do even better.

If I'm still in the Indiana area next summer, I may be moving to LA in January, I'm hoping to get around to a couple different tracks to get some more experience.
